Welcome to the volunteer sign-up for a Boise Nice Project event.
What is plogging you ask? Plogging is a combination of jogging and picking up litter (something many of us do in Boise regularly). It started as an organized activity in Sweden in 2016 and spread to other countries in 2019.
Much like Rake-up Boise or Paint the Town, you can sign-up as an individual or as group. Boise Plogs 2022 hubs will be at 11 City of Boise parks. You'll sign up to report to volunteer as neighborhood park captain or a plogger for the morning of April 23rd. If you are a neighborhood park captain you'll be stationed at a park near the giant Boise Nice banner to assist plogs with any complications. If you are a plogger you'll be assigned a neighborhood adjacent to the park. A description of the plogging area and a map will be included in your confirmation email and stored in your volunteer profile. Once you are finished plogging you'll drop your trash off at the park's dumpster.
A Boise Plogs 2022 t-shirt, trash bag, and pair of gloves will be available for pick-up from 4-7pm on April 21st and 22nd at Crunch Fitness (SW corner of State Street and Lake Harbor in Boise - 2999 N. Lake Harbor Lane).
A food truck after party is planned for 11am at Green Acres Food Truck Park (greenacresboise.com) . All volunteers attending the food truck party will be given a drink ticket and a Clif Bar.
The sponsors for this event include: Zamzows, Boise Regional Realtors, Route Networking Group, Learned Lawyer, Clif Bar, Caffeina, Water's Edge Dental, Green Acres Food Truck Park, Eiguren-Merrill Public Policy Firm, Anderson Family, Tucker Benchmark Mortgage, Rotary District 5400, Bank of Idaho, Luminaire, Intelligent Office, Amalgamated Sugar, Republic Services, Simplot, Russ and Tricia Stromberg Family Foundation, and Evergreen Gavekal.
